Where to See Flamenco
We will be in Spain this winter and hope to enjoy Flamenco while there. I love the dancing and my husband the guitar. Any suggestions on where to find performances in the following towns:
Barcelona
Valencia
Malaga
Granada
Sevilla
We start in Barcelona mid January and end in Sevilla in February. Last time we were in Andulcia we stumbled upon some Flamenco festivals in Córdoba and Sevilla. Would love for that to happen again.

In Barcelona, consider Tablao de Carmen; I enjoyed a dinner there, too. I believe seats are assigned in the order in which reservations are made, so consider that as you plan.

I also saw a flamenco performance in Barcelona at Tablao Cordobes, but had NOT dined with them and was disappointed with my seat, as my view of the dancers was largely blocked by others. I couldn’t see feet at all! Seats in the performance venue there are in a different room than the tables for dining; those who have a meal are given the better seats regardless of time of reservation.

Both were recommended by kimhe, who offered flamenco recommendations throughout Spain for many years; you might want to do a google search including the terms “fodor’s”, “flamenco”, “kimhe”, and each of the city names.

Robert - thanks for the links. That is a good start for me to check.
kja - appreciate your perspective which is helpful. We would prefer skipping dinner so good to know about that possibly having an impact on seating. I have read many of kimhe's posts on flamenco and hope that he sees this thread and joins in. Good idea to google and see what I can find of his. Although as I recall many of his posts were time specific so while it may give venues not sure it will mention the "best" shows.

We saw a great Flamenco show in Seville at La Casa Del Flamenco. It is a one-hour show in a small theater, so seats and views are great wherever you sit. You are close to the stage, and seating is in a semi-circle. It is not a dinner show.
