Where to put the gameboy ??

I know why he is allowed to bring games while visiting a wonderful play like Paris BUT...he's 16 and its great for long lines and down time.

So any advice on how to carry a gameboy around. My son usually carries it in the front pocket of his pants. My daughter is spending at year at college in England and the police gave them pointers on pick pockets. Apparently they slash your front pocket with a razor and your valuables fall out.

Any suggestions???

:-) Who would steal a gameboy? Just carry it visible to everyone. They won't touch it!

I would follow logos' advice and hope that someone steals it. :)

Why not buy a gameboy bag and wear it as one would a camera bag..they have long straps and are easy to wear.

I agree with that. Pickpockets really want money or something valuable. Yeah, I know in theory that may be worth $50-75, but it's a toy. Maybe it would be a good thing if it were stolen. Pickpockets don't have to slash things with razors, they can also reach into front pockets.

I don't know when you are going, but the obvious answer is some pocket on the inside of a jacket or something like that. How about on top of his head and then he can cover it with a cap or hat? There are certainly pants with pockets in them also, like cargo shorts -- and there are even socks with pockets in them, although I don't know if they'd be big enough for that. You can get something like a waist moneybelt for your leg, also, it might fit into that.

Maybe he could buy a book if he doesn't want to talk to anyone while waiting in line, and is antisocial.

A book? A BOOK? That's no fun!

Josser Oct 8th, 2007 06:58 AM

....don't tempt me :-)

Just let him carry it the same as he would at home. I highly doubt anyone's going to slash his pocket with a razor to get a Gameboy!!! Seriously.

iPods, on the other hand, ARE a theft/robbery magnet in urban areas. The white earphones, especially, are a giveaway.

Ok there are no "loyal gamers" answering this ;-) I enjoyed your answers they were pretty funny. In his defense he does read a lot??? Have a great day

Aparently that's what happened to Farinelli.
