Where to meet for lunch in Paris
Our trip to Paris and Spain is almost upon us. We arrive in Paris on 9/24 and will begin something of a family reunion by meeting my brother and sister in law for lunch. I had suggested the roof of the Samaritaine but wonder if anyone has another suggestion in the same vicinity in case of rain.

The indoor restaurant of La Samaritaine has good views of Paris streets, I think it's on the fifth floor. Not inexpensive, and reservations are suggested as a lot of business people seem to go there for lunch.
Look at the Samaritaine website for details. Across the hall from that restaurant is a sandwich-snack bar, more casual place. |
The rooftop Samarataine cafe is just that--salads and sandwiches.
Not particularly in the same area but how about Brasserie en l'Ile de St. Louis--just across the bridge from the back of Notre Dame. You can eat outside under the awning with a wonderful view of Notre Dame and the river. |
Le Ciel de Paris
No contest. Panoramic views from the 56th floor. (I know, it's not in the same vicinity - unless you're looking at a map of Europe - but what's a 5-minute ride to Montparnasse? After all, you've already come 4-5,000 miles.) cieldeparis.com |
Thanks, everyone. We are sure to find something interesting using your suggestions. I especially like the idea of Brasserie en I'le de St. Louis as we will be going to ISL after lunch anyway.

We had their daily special but the onion tart looked absolutely to die for. And we didn't need to eat any dinner. Love that place.
