Where to Meet at Atocha Train Station in Madrid

We are flying in to Madrid airport and meeting a travel companion. Since our next "activity" after arrival is taking a train to Cordoda from Atocha train station, we decided to meet there, i.e. at the train station. My question is this : If I tell them to meet me at the ticket office, is there only one? Any other ideas from those who have been there about where exactly to fix a meeting place?

Many thanks in advance for prompt reply.

How about by the tropical garden in the station, close to the glass doors into the station? Or by the entrance to the Metro within the station?

There are multiple ticket offices, customer service offices, etc. so they would be confusing.

I've been there. That tropical garden is rather large. I suggest meeting at the upstairs cafe of the station. Here's a view: http://tinyurl.com/mfcp59w. The balcony has a nice view and the drinks are not expensive. Enjoy your wait.

I always meet my friend at the statue of the traveler with luggage. There's place to sit around it and it's at the entrance to the garden. My friend from Madrid suggested it the first time we met up there.

My reason for meeting close to the sets of glass doors leading into the station.

At the turtles!

(Yes, there's a turtle pool in the lovely tropical garden inside the classic old train shed - bars and cafes nearby to sit at).

Are you both from US? Do you both have smart phones?
If yes and yes, make sure you sign up with your respective carrier for an inexpensive international text plan, so that you may touch base with each other inexpensively while looking for each other in Atocha train station or elsewhere in Spain.

I found a photo of it (number 5). It's actually baggage and an umbrella - a sculpture. The second comment describes the sculpture. It's directly beneath the walkways at the entrance to the garden.
