Where to meet around Parma-urgent!
 

We are off to Tuscany tomorrow. I've just had an email from friends in Finland who will be on Lake Garda and want to meet up.
We are just west of Lucca and a quick look at the map suggests that Parma is around half way. Without driving into the city can you suggest somewhere nearby- restaurant probably where we can while away a few hours with friends?We'll have a baby with us if that's important.

In 2010, we had nice leisurely lunches at the following restaurants, all of which are near Parma:

Trattoria Tre Scalini on Via Castelo in Montegalda
Trattoria ai Due Paltani on Via Budellungo in Coloreto
Trattoria di Cognento in Campagnola Emilia

Why don't you meet at the Torrechaira castle? There is a restaurant at the castle, and one in the town right below the castle. If you meet at the entrance to the castle, you can decide from there where to go. It is very hard to miss the castle. You can see it from miles around.
