where to go in November

My wife and I are trying to pick a place to go in mid-November, as we will be in London already with a week or so to spare. I am afraid the weather will cause us trouble most places, and we don't really want to pack all our ski stuff. Not really museum-types, would rather be outdoors. Take any suggestions in western europe.

Fly to Hamburg (Venice of Northern Europe) for a day or two, then rent a car and drive west thru the low countries to Normandy or east to Berlin. That should take 5-7 days.
hth,

I went to Sicily in mid November. Weather was warm during the day. Some rain, but plenty of sun too. Lots of outdoor sightseeing available (pretty towns, ancient ruins, Mount Etna, etc.) and a week sounds about right. Also even Taormina wasn't crowded in November. Many hotels right on the beaches were closed for the season.

I've also been to Andalucia (early November) and the weather was sunny and warm.

Try southern Spain. It's still beautiful that time of year.
