Where to go in France with kids?

Suggestions for travelling with a 2 and 7 year old...would you go here: Biarritz, Bourdeaux, Rouen, Brittany, Perros-Guirec or La Plaine Sur Mer?

I'd go where you want to go. If you're having fun, they'll have fun. Pace yourselves for the kids, don't try to imagine what in particular will entertain them as it's everywhere. Food, a cozy place to sleep, watching other kids in the parks and on & on. Take pictures and they'll imagine later that they remember.

Children will see things of interest no matter where you go, especially since France is an extremely child-friendly country are provides playgrounds and minor amusement parks almost everywhere. When I was very small being taken around France, I was happy just about anywhere if there were swings to play on and ice cream to eat.

Need more info - go for how long in one of those places or more than one?

Yes when?

Seaside is always nice but seaside towns are often mainly resorts with little of attractions.

Are you driving or taking train?

Have you considered camping? Great for families - camps have self-catering caravans and cabins in some cases so it is not tent camping. A camp near a beach could be good for a kid-centered place but what do the adults want to do?

We took our kids to Antibes and Nice last summer (end of June) and Antibes was our favorite. There are a lot of beautiful beaches, wonderful farmer's markets daily and Antibes is near a lot of other wonderful things to do. The vendors at the farmers markets were sweet about giving the kids samples, and they loved the baguettes and goodies in the bakeries and cafes. There is a new Ferris wheel in Antibes that is very large. You can also hike, rent bikes, rent a boat. There is a Marine World
Park (just out of Antibes, I believe). There is a little playground that can be visited along the seaside walk in Antibes (see Rick Steve's book and map).

From Antibes, we visited Monaco and my kids enjoyed the palace, the changing of the guard in front of the palace and the marine life museum.

You can also visit Nice from Antibes and ride bikes along the Place des Anglais, go to the beach, and visit the old merry-go-round located right across the street. My kids also LOVED the fountain the have just outside the old town in Nice. It is a huge zero depth entry fountain that children play in. It sprays water out at unanticipated intervals, and although we were only there 2 nights, we went 3 times. There is also a very nice playground right near the fountain.

I also found the name of an amusement park along this stretch of the Côte d'Azur, but we never made it there as we just loved the beaches.

Have fun!
