where to go in europe this winter?

We will be in europe for new year. We will be in edinburgh for New year for a week then another week in london and we have an extra week. Initially we were going to do dublin but we would rather go somewhere sunny. By sunny I do not mean bathing in a pool. I am happy walking with winter clothes and having sunshine. ANy suggestions?

You could try Barcelona, in Spain. I was there at that time of year two years ago and had an excellent sunny weather. Besides that it's a wonderful city.

or Andalucia [Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla and Ronda} or Sicily.
E-mail me if you want notes on either/both with useful URLs - and/or on Barcelona.

I suggest you look at the ryanair and easyjet websites to see if there are cheap flights anywhere warm. Southern Spain is fairly warm, or the Algarve in Portugal.

Rome is quite delightful in winter. The clothing I wear there in winter is what I would be wearing in autumn in my hometown.

Wherever you decide to go, I hope you have a lovely trip.

BC
