Where to go for Christmas in Europe

Hi all

Being far from home this Christmas, does anyone have any recommendations for where might be good places to go in Europe for 4-5 days at Christmas time?

It will be easier to make suggestions if you give a little more info. Have you been to Europe before? Are you travelling alone? What is your budget like? What do you like to do/see/etc.?

are you already somewhere in Europe?

I like Innsbruck and Salzburg and points in between. Keep in mind that in very small towns, nothing will be open. Even in larger towns, the only restaurants open may be in hotels and perhaps a food kiosk at the train station.
