Where to go- Europe Trip.
 

Hello, my wife and I (mid to late twenties) are planning a trip to Europe from early september to early august. We will be flying into Madrid or Paris. Our present plan now is to explore France, Spain, Portugal, and Austria. We are looking for ideas of what to do and where to go in this region. Corsica in France and Lagos in Portuagal are on out lists. We are looking for cultural activities and well as crazy nightlife. Any thoguhts about are plans or ideas of can't miss places would be great. Thank you.

BRANDON, I assume you mean a month. You can easily spend a month in just Spain, Portugal, and the south of France. We did that in 1999, and it was all contigious. You can also spend a month in Switzerland, Austria, and northern Italy--been there and done that. My point is that I would not mix those 2 itineraires. Pick your gateway and then work on the details. The big question will be travel by car or train. If car, then you are an ideal candidate for the French lease program.

If it is just one month, then Spain and France. Time flies when you vacation!

Big typo will be in europe from september to october, oops. We will be traveling by train with a eurorail pass. Thanks for the responses.
