Where to go Cesky Krumlov or Viena?
On my way to Budapeste I do not know if I stay in Viena or Cesky Krumlov. I cannot stay in both as I have already paid the hotel in Prague. Thanks

I'm making 2 assumptions here: 1) you're traveling from Prague to Budapest, and 2) you mean Wien/Vienna.
Are you traveling by train, car, bus? Is this for 1 night or several? Those are two very different cities. CK is a World Heritage Site and is one of the more fascinating places in Central Europe. Wonderful small town and well worth a visit. If you're spending 2 days and a night, it would be well worth it and is a great respite from the larger cities. It's a little more difficult to get to than Vienna. If you're talking several days, I'd probably go with Vienna. Wonderful city with more than enough for a few days. Very historical, interesting architecture, great restaurants, museums, etc. Pretty easy to get to from Prague, then to Budapest. I think it depends on whether you enjoy large versus small, how much time you have, and your means of transport. Hope this helps. |
Hi Dfr, thanks for your reply. We will be going from Salzburg to Wien, and I thought if it was worthing to stop for 1 night in CK.(thanks for your tips, defetely we will sleep there), then 2 nights in Wien (if you can suggest sight seeings I will appreciate), then Budapeste and Prague (shall I stop in Bratislava??). After prague Germany.Thank you so much.by tthe way, we love3 small towns.

My wife and I will be staying in Prague, then traveling south and stop in Cesky Krumlov one night before going onto Salzburg. Do you have any recommendations for hotel/B&B to reserve in Cesky Krumlov?
|
I could easily recommend about ten of them! My favourites are:
1. Castle View 2. Skala 3. Kapr 4. Ve Vezi 5. Kapr You are sure to fall in love with Cesky Krumlov, especially in the evening and early morning when fewer people are around. It really is a gem! |
Oops - I said Kapr twice! For number 5 I meant Kadlec.

We leave next week for Prague and CK. Flying into Prague and going straight to CK for 2 nights, then back to Prague for 5 nights.
After 7 years overseas, this is our last "hoorah" before heading back to the US. We're even taking the kids out of school for a week (exams will be over) - which is something we NEVER do! Can anyone recommend any good restaurants in these cities? We'll be staying near the old square in Prague. Nothing too fancy (don't want to dress up), but price really isn't an issue (DH is always willing to pay for good food!). Can't wait!!! :) |
My list for Wien is:
Stephensdom Schonbrunn Palace Belvedere Kapuzinerkirche Hauptallee Habsburg Palaces As for stopping in Bratislava, we've never been there so can't give you personal opinion. Our friends haven't been overly impressed, but hopefully someone else can give their own opinions. |
