where to go

My husband and I are planning to go away in mid-July for our 1st anniversary. We love to go to beach resorts and be totally pampered---we are not much of sight-seer's and therefore have always gone away to the carribean and Hawaii---I was thinking about a european trip but do not know anything about whether or not there are any kinds of beach resorts. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

ziggie:
Europe is surrounded by seas and ocean, so naturally it has a gazillion beach resorts. Any European country that borders the ocean or Mediterranean or Adriatic or Baltic or Black or Tyrrhenean Seas has built-up coastal areas with plenty of resorts.
However, if you're not sight-seers, do you want the expense of a European trip if you're just going to lie on a beach? The dollar's awfully weak right now!

Marbella, Spain might fit what you are seeking. But water temperatures will be lower almost year round than those you find in the Caribbean or Hawaii. Can't cite specific data for July.

Best wishes,

Rex

ziggi--I agree with StC. If you want to go to a resort and be pampered and not interested in sight seeing, you can do that a lot less expensively in places other than Europe.

Or, if cost is not an issue, Bora Bora is awfully nice in July (or any other time of the year for that matter).
