Where to eat in Paris, near Palais Garnier
 

My friend and I have tickets to the afternoon ballet, and are looking for a nice dinner afterward. However, we are students and can only pay a max of 25 euros each. Is there a good place near the Palais Garnier? Thanks!

I like the Le Grand Cafe nearby, but don't know what you'd get for 25 euro there. The opera area is, in general, a very expensive area, if you are going to the ballet in the afternoon, it won't be that late at all when you get out, in fact that is your problem. It won't be dinnertime yet, it will be only about 5 pm won't it? YOu can easily go anywhere for dinner, why not go over to the Bastille area, for example it's not far.

I'm thinking it will be too early for "dinner" also. You are at a huge metro that can take you anywhere you want to eat.
I think you could go to bistro du 7eme and have a nice formule.

However, I thought you could try Chartier which is a well-known old bouillon (workers restaurant) in the 9th arr not too far from the opera near the Grands Boulevards metro stop http://www.bouillon-chartier.com/

It isn't gourmet by any means, but definitely cheap and an experience and will probably be open whenever you want to eat.

For a maximum of 25€, you have Chez Clément (traditional French) on the right as you come out of the Palais Garnier or Hippopotamus (steakhouse) on the left, both on boulevard des Capucines.

Well, you're not going to be able to get dinner in Paris until at least 7 pm anyway - snacks, a sandwich, yes, so if that will do, just hop into a café or sandwich shop. The Opéra Garnier neighborhood is primarily a business district, and not cheap (though there will be places to eat), and since you have a window of time until 9 pm, why not just start strolling toward the Arc de Triomphe and find something inexpensive along the way?

Both Hippopotamus and Chez Clément have non stop service, so you can eat at either whenever you want.

Chartier is open 11:30 - 10 Pm. The food is cheap and ok, the experience is fun and worthwhile.
