Where to eat in Mougins?

I only got one reply to my post about what to see and do during our week in Mougins. Maybe it isn't a very popular place? Does anyone have recommendations for restaurants there? Thanks.

I don't know whether I posed a response to your query, but our long-time favorite in Mougins is Le Feu Follet. We've taken French friends there, and they also liked it a lot.

You can get an excellent meal for a moderate price. Ask for a table on the side patio.

As for what to do in Mouginse, what are your interests? You'll be in prime sightseeing territory for hilltop villages, but there's much more to see in the region.

Cannes is about a half-hour drive from Mougins, depending on the traffic. Thereís a very large covered market known mostly to the locals; itís at the east end of town.

Within easy driving range from Mougins are the perfume town of Grasse, the little mountain town of Tourette-sur-Loup, the very perched village of Gourdon, the charming villages of Valbonne and Biot (a glass-blowing center), and of course Vence and St-Paul-de-Vence to the east.

BTW, there are two Mougins how to do plural??): one is the perched village, the other a slightly sprawling small town on the plain.

Underhill, thank you so much! Your response was very, very helpful. We will definitely try the restaurant, and see as many of the sights as time allows. Since we've never been there, we are interested in seeing everything. The one person who replied to my previous inquiry recommended that we rent a car for our week in Mougins---do you agree? If we didn't rent a car, would we have difficulty getting out to restaurants or to see the sights? If we do rent a car, can we get one easily when we get off the train, or do we need to reserve one before we leave the U.S.?

I'd definitely advise a car for ease of sightseeing--particularly if you want to visit the mountains above Grasse. You will get the best rates by renting before you leave the U.S.; check out the autoeurope.com web site for good deals.
There is really a great deal to see in the area where you'll be staying, and a car will make things easier.

If you have questions, I'll be glad to help--our friends live just below Grasse, and we've come to know the area well.

You might want to put a drive through the Sophie Antipolis complex on your agenda, as it's so close to Mougins. It's a fine example of how work space can be in a natural setting; the many research buildings are set amid pine and other trees, and many offices have wonderful views down to the Mediterranean (as does our lucky friend's!).
