WOW! Thanks for all the input. We are still going to check out Camden Market as planned. I am not really into flea markets, but my hubby is. I'd like to check it out, too, I'll admit it! I never do the garage sale things or flea markets much at home really, but I thought he'd like it and you never know what you'll run across. I am familiar with DC as I've been there lots of times. If it's similar to Eastern Market, I think we'll have fun!! Is the Tube similar to that of the Metro in DC. It looks similar, but on a larger scale. Is it as easy to navigate? Thanks again for all the input! I just love all the different opinions people express on this site. It's so fun to check the posts daily!

Attn: Kavey

PLEASE give me any info you can specific to the market that you mentioned. I'd love that! My hubby is into antiques (small items, especially anything involving fishing). I am interested in local craft type items, prints, funky things, etc. I guess I'm looking for different things to bring home to remind me of our trip. Any additional info you could give would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

If you want antiques you will not find them in Camden, you will come across bric-a-brac and grannies attic type objet.

What you want is in Portobello Rd.

The tube, providing one plans ahead i.e. looks at a map is fairly easy to navigate - if you get lost ask a guard at the station and they should sort out any queries.

Alfies antique market in Lisson grove may have the things you are looking for. Also, the name escapes me now - On the corner of South Molton St. is a large antique market open weekdays only. Islington at weekends offers Camden passage (no relation to Camden town) with excellent yet small antique shops.
