Where to eat?! (Dublin, Kilkenny, Killarney, Galway)
Hi there-
My husband and I are traveling to Ireland in May/June and us foodies need some help! We would love any recommendation you have on places for great meals (great drinks a bonus!). We would love both traditional and non traditional and open on the cost. Thank you SO much! We love shepherd's pie and seafood if that helps at all :) |
Two that were memorable for us, Le Bon Crubeen Talbot St. Dublin and Stonechat High St, Killarney. Menus should be online.

Not in Killarney, but in nearby Kenmare---Mulcahy's was our favorite dinner in our 2 weeks in Ireland.
Just as a general comment, we were highly impressed with the presentation and quality of the food in Ireland. We found that for around 70-80 Euros we could have more casual fish n' chips(including wine, a starter, etc.) but for about 100-115 Euros we could have fantastic gourmet, seafood dinners(again including wine, a starter). |
Thanks so much!!

I usually check this site:
www.goodfoodireland.ie It does not only show restaurants and pubs, but also recommended merchants for foodstuff (e.g. if you want to shop for a picknick) etc. The good places in those "everybody's darling" locations usually come with a recognizable mark-up for same quality as those further inland or off the beaten track (as probably everywhere else on the planet). |
