Where to develop our photos in Paris and Amsterdam?

To avoid any surprises with increased negative effects of x-ray machines on films we think that would be a good idea to have our pictures developed before we return home. Anyone did this and where? Where you satisfied with this service? What about quality if the photos and price?
Should we buy Kodak films there as well? Is Hodak film more expensive in those two countries than in NY? What is your opinion?

We are flying to Paris next week and also spending 4 days in Amsterdam?

Hello c:
Thanks and do you remember how long did you have to wait for your pictures? Do you remember the name of this place?

In Amsterdam, go to any Albert Heijn supermarket. Takes 2 working days and costs approximately 20 euro cents per photo.

Jon,
In general what you are looking for is 1) Is the film done "in house" and 2) is photog. the main buss. of the establishment. I'm assuming we are talking about 35mm film.
Usually there are camera/film shops whose main bus. is film and may have an in house lab. I use these people rather than dropping film off to be shipped to another location. Many of these shops do film in an hour, or you can save a little cash by having it processed overnite.
Joe's in London is an example of the kind of shop I'm talking about, and many Kodak shops in the States are another example.
I might add that if you have a lead lined bag in your carry on, security will (in the States) hand check it if you ask nice. Overseas I've never even had anyone ask to check it. NEVER ship film in your checked on luggage as the x-rays are stronger.
Hope this helps in a general way. Can't give you specific places to go in AMS or Paris. M.

In Paris I use the fnac store on Rue de Rennes in the Montparnasse area. In Amsterdam and throughout Holland I use any V+D or Blokker store.

One other in Holland that I recommend is Capi-Lux. They have a store on the Grote Houtstraat in Haarlem and on Kalverstraat in Amsterdam.
