Where to buy silver jewellery in Turkey?
 

I really love the silver jewellery from Turkey, and would love to find out where to buy cheap/affordable silver jewellery, because I plan to visit Turkey for 5/6 days, and would like to bring some back. Any suggestions would be welcome.<BR>Thanks<BR>Helen

Where ever you buy always remember to bargain.

ARiel, you forgot to add, and bargain again and again. The prices quoted are ridiculous with the final price paid. Beware of the Grand Bazar, may not be legit silver, but the prices are the best. There are stores like LAPIS which will give you a certificate of authenticity on your purchase. We bought a rug, they shipped it (price included shipment and taxes strait to our door) and the quality is excellent. We bought a Hariken (? spelling) rug. Even in those huge stores, you have to haggle and make you are leaving, and then think on it again, and haggle and haggle. Good luck.

By the way, the initial price quoted was $ 8.000 and we paid $ 4.000 all inclusive. You can pay a small amout and the balance when you receive.

Thanks for everyone's response! And thanks for reminding me to bargain - we are just back from Italy and Provence, where we could not really bargain! First time for me to go to Turkey! But I always wanted to...so I am starting to plan a very short trip for next year!
