Where to buy outdoors socks in Rome

So, I want to buy a few pairs of SMARTWOOL summer socks for the enormous time of walking that will be ahead of me.

Does anybody know where I can buy some in Rome?
Meaning some outdoors shops that have them.

Thanks!

We found a Foot Locker in Florence that had lots of socks. Not sure if they have the ones you would need. I was looking for low sport type socks and found just what I needed.

Here is the address of the store in Rome....Via Alberto Lionello, 00139 Rome, Italy

Just about any big department store.

Outdoor socks, yes, that particular brand? Maybe. I would bring Smartwool socks from home. In fact, I DO bring Smartwool socks from home.

Thanks socialworker, but I couldnt manage to find the store online...to check if they have those.

Unfortunatelly a few outdoors shops that we have here dont have this kind of socks.

I need special trekking/outdoors socks
SMARTWOOL or any other kind of WOOL socks for trekking that are usually:
60-70-80-90% WOOL(they usually use MERINO wool) + 10-40% elastic fibres.
But NOT the granny-winter-FAT-ONES, there are awesome thin wool socks for summer.

These special wool socks are made for walking all day and your feet dont stink even after many days of walking VS "plastic" socks that stink like hell after a few hours.
It is even comfortable to have wet feet in them.
So I want to buy a few pairs to have for my future hiking activities also.

So...

I will be visiting Florence as well!
Please tell me some good outdoors shops in Florence or Rome...
Thanks!

Kidding about what? I must be dense today.

AAFrequentFlyer Apr 9th, 2013 09:29 AM

It was a reply to the OP, not you. S/he said that they can't find it on line. It took me all of about 2 seconds to find the socks on line.

Oh ain't ya one BIG SMARTY AAFrequentFlyer...
how about go be smart on yourself and stop flaming my post.

I'm asking for a good OUTDOORS/TREKKING/HIKING SHOP in Rome or Florence.
And not ONLY for socks by the way, but for many things I want to see.

I think it's quite simple question.
Looking forward for a simple answer.

Or try using Google yourself, since you don't like the tone of strangers who are trying to help you.

Good grief, it's this sort of nonsense that has lead to the announcement at the top of the page. Play nicely or get out of the sandpit. AAfrequentflyer, there was no need to be so patronising and Danila84, as a newby if you expect help here, then keep a civil tongue in your head!

Thank you, cathies.

okay, here is a recap of what happened Danila ,

First of all, you did not mention anything other than socks in your first post. You did not mention that you also wanted to get other items.

Somebody suggested to buy the socks here and take it with you.

You replied that your local stores did not carry it and you could not find it online.

I found it on line within seconds and posted the link.

For that I got called names.....

Chill out

Ackislander Apr 10th, 2013 01:19 AM

I was dense but I assumed from the OP's odd, stilted English that they were not in North America where that website might help. But the flame suggests that they might well be a North American, just one who speaks odd, stilted Engish and is rude.

You know, you can always order them from Amazon.com (or .ca, .de, .es, .fr, .il, or whichever one works best for you) and have them shipped to you or your hotel.

Sometimes those "quite simple questions" turn out to be the most complicated ones of all.

socaltraveler Apr 10th, 2013 06:19 AM

I believe the OP is a young traveler from an eastern European country, hence the language and shopping issues. If you look at his other thread, there are similarities in online conversation problems.

Thanks socaltraveler, for the useful link.
That's all I needed.

---> DECATHLON <---

I do use google before asking, just not that skillfull I guess.

Yes I am from Eastern Europe.
The more EAST and SOUTH you go you will find people generally have more soul and are less materialistic and are generally much more EAGER to embrace you when you need help. But they have "language" and garbage issues.
The more WEST you go you will find that materialism is prevalent, people care less about others but generally live in better living conditions. Hence, they are spoonfed and "soft" on everything about themselves, and can be quite haughty towards others.

It's a cultural thing.
Every culture has its pros n cons.

Not hating, just saying what's obvious to the eye.
Nor discriminating, there are great people everywhere, this is just plain statistics which most of us already know.
Hope one day we'll all learn the good stuff from each other, and get rid of the filth of humanity.

Peace :)

There are InterSport stores in Italy. Perhaps you can find Smartwool or some other hiking socks there.

Ackislander Apr 10th, 2013 07:24 AM

Nicer, OP! Well done!
