Try a London map scarf from www.mapscarves.com -- they seem to be what is new on this board at the moment -- lol!
(see Map Scarves psoting below)

Chris, you might also try the Gift shops in places like the Victoria & Albert, British museum and the various larger art galleries. I have always found souvenirs of excellent quality and at good variations in prices. I am sure the department stores also have souvenir departments. Kay

Try some London coasters with scenes of the city. They are flat, easy to pack and you can actually use them for something. We have coasters from all over Europe and they always remind us of various trips when we pull one set out.

Harrods....has anything you would want.

Covent Garden
There are places that you can buy great posters for a few dollars. All of the museums have great gift shops. St Martins in the Fields Church has a good gift shop. Selfridges, Harrods, Marks and Spencer, you can buy tea, cookies, small gifts that are not expensive. Portabello Road, a small old thingee, London is full of shopping opportunities!

Chris.
A very nice place to buy 'gifts' to take home with you is the Royal supermarket on Piccadilly called Fortnum & Masons. You can't miss it, its green across from the Royal Academy of Arts. They have fanastic chocolates, teas, biscuits and other food items with the F&M logo. Very nice. Otherwise on Picadilly there is a Paddington Bear shop and along the road there are a couple of 'tacky' tourist gimmicky stalls.

chris:
Just got back from London.
Found that cookies from Harrod's and Fortnum & Mason make great gifts.
On our strolls along Picadilly, we
found two great sources. There was fellow with a large stand right next to St James's Church with cute things at a reasonable price. He was around until late evening. Across the street from the Ritz (can't think of the name, sorry) was a store open until 10PM that had all kinds of nice things. We had a great time looking and buying. On Sunday, there was a street sale right outside the gates of Green Park. All kinds of nice things some of which were hand crafted.
Hope this helps you. Have a great time!
