Where to buy nice soaps in Paris?
I'll be in Paris for two weeks and wondered if anyone could recommend a place to buy nice, scented soaps? My cousin is nuts about high quality soaps and I'd like to bring back a nice gift for her birthday. I don't buy that sort of thing normally so have never really paid attention. Thanks!

Of course, there's Roger et Gallet, 195 rie St. Honore, Paris 1er, but you can buy those in the States.

My wife insists that the R et G soap bought in France have more fragrance than those purchased in the US.

Fragonard

Just about any drugstore will have a good selection.

Any pharmacie. or any fresh market. Look for soaps that are made from lait d'àne (donkey's milk) they are especially soft and silky and are often scented with herbs. Roget et Gallet is meh, IMO, by comparison.

Monoprix

L'Occitane has some perfumed soaps that aren't available in the US.
Otherwise, I'd go to a large pharmacie. Monoprix has bar soap but not very attractive packaging. Roger et Gallet has pretty gift boxes and smell nice. |

We love Marius Fabre Olive Oil Figue soap, they have other scents besides, and stock up on our visits. You can buy them at Le Bon Marche in the department where shampoos, etc are sold on the ground level floor. Also like to pick up olive oil soaps at some of the outdoor markets.
