Haven't been in December but I would suggest to start your shopping at the Galleries Lafeyette department store. They are a traditional department store in the category of Macy's.

I was in Paris last December and had a wonderful time attending the various Christmas fairs in different neighborhoods around the city. Handmade ornaments, gifts, goodies, etc. were available at many locations that I found through the Paris Tourist Office website prior to my trip. (www.paris-touristoffice.com is the site, enter your dates and you will see lots of activities) Of course, the department stores are also full of lots of Christmas items..you'll love it!!
