where to buy bowling shoes?
 

We will be going to London & Paris in a few weeks. I have seen posts that mention bowling shoes are popular. My daughter has been wanting a pair. Does anyone have suggestions where to look for them? Besides bowling alleys!!

Noticed them in many stores in in Paris last month in various neighborhoods and I doubt you will have any difficulty finding them.

I'll echo what Jim said. We saw them in many shoe store windows in Paris. I might that the ones we saw were expensive!

I got my pair at Nordstroms last summer.

The shoes are called CAMPERS and made in Spain -- all the rage in Europe. Cost is $75 in Spain, $100 in France. There are knockoffs by other companies. There are Camper stores -- one in the Marais I believe. My college daughter bought a pair and swears by them for comfort and durablity. She backpacked in them for 3 weeks.

They were hot last year - not this year....

There were lots of them in Italy as well. Generally they were tan, or part tan.

They appear to still be the very hot ticket. Everybody was wearing them, and they were in every shoe store in Paris two weeks ago.

And to think I can't wear my comfortable white Saucony running shoes but you morons can wear bowling shoes. Where are the fashion police when you need them.

Have you ever read a more idiotic group of notes than this group of shallow, stupid, morons wanting to wear bowling shoes cause they are in. You know, when I read threads like this and all the other about Paris and what they are wearing, and what they think of Americans and what they eat and if they smile and all the other free floating anxiety that surfaces on these boards about the Parisians it makes think that Parisians are the ultimate group of Beverly Hills High School snobs and you people are the wanna be's who worry about if their shit stinks. If you want to buy them in Paris-rue Dragon is a shoe shoppers bonanza! also Galleries Lafayette has a big selection.<BR><BR> The sell them in most shoe stores in NYC too.There is a Campers store in Soho,and a Hogans.

To you fashion know nothings-<BR>they are not actually bowling shoes.They are very comfortable walking shoes , made in the style of a bowling shoe.If you pulled your heads out of that small dark place you keep them, you would see there are a lot of people walking around wearing these shoes.<BR>So do not be so smug in your ignorance.

I know very well what they are, x. How could I not know -- they started appearing in fine shoe shop display windows here about two years ago. Then, about one year ago they were sort of still in the display but pushed to the far side or back. Now, today, I'm sure they have hoards of unsold pairs back in the storeroom. They always looked like a 70's revamp based on a Addidas leather trainer to me. Tr&egrave;s chic. I could count on 2 hands the number of people I've seen wearing those around here (SF) since their inception. Look like an out-of-date dork if you like, just don't come crying to me when you hear people laughing behind your back.

Bowling shoes were in all the shoe stores in Germany last month. I must say though that I didn't see anyone wearing them.

Hello, I was in Paris in March and just returned from London. The bowling type shoes are all over in store windows. I also saw lots of young people wearing them. You will easily be able to find them for your daughter along with the bowling bag type purse if you wish.

I have Ecco bowling shoes I wear all the time because they are comfortable, not because they are (or were) fashionable. So there.
