Where to buy a stylish clutch in Paris...
That won't cost a mint.
Packing for Paris. I am taking my new favorite travel purse, a black Tumi crossbody. As I am traveling with friends we have many dinner plans and in a number of cases a Tumi bag may not "go" with what I am wearing. I think I'd like to pick up a simple clutch purse while I'm there - I am thinking of something 50E or less. Less would be better but if it's sparkly I could go a little higher. ;) Any thoughts? Thank you! |
Probably a million places.

That narrows it down!

Try B. Biberon et Fils at 334 Rue St. Honore - It is a leather handbag shop about a block or two from the Louvre.
It is not a designer shop, but carries beautifully made leather bags for under $100. It's on the left before you get to Rue du Louvre, I believe. Can't miss it. |
Wonderful! That helps significantly. The only two places I could think of, off the top of my head, were Cecile et Jeanne and Sequoia. I already have bags from them, they aren't spendy but they aren't cheap either.

Oh! And it's near Jean Paul Hevin - the chocolatier. Enjoy!

La Maroquinerie de Paris - http://lamaroquinerieparisienne.com/index_an.htm
Designer bags at excellent prices - great spot for a bargain. Be prepared to fight it out with sharp-elbowed Parisiennes though. |
Interesting... There's a paper sign in the windo at B. Biberon that says, "La Maroquinerie." I'll bet it's part of the same business.

No, la Maroquinerie is a generic term for places that sell leather goods, though I suppose they could be holding themselves out as The leather goods store among all leather goods stores. |
