Where to buy a Museum Pass?
I have followed some posts on this topic but don't really know where we buy a Museum pass. At the museums, before we leave the states, where? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

I would not even bother trying metro stations. We tried 3 different stations in March and they were all sold out. We tried both major and smallers metro stops. We finally went to the shops that connect with the Louvre and there was some sort of Tourist Office that sold the passes and they spoke English.

If you're in Paris the first Sunday of any month, a few museums are free-- notably the Louvre and d'Orsay. They may be more crowded. If you try the Louvre entrance underground where the metro stop is, it's usually shorter we were told. The d'Orsay line was long, but it moved quickly. Can't complain much for free, and that helps the budget for a family of four traveling for two weeks!

Holy smoke. What's wrong with this picture: the bureau that has been responsible for getting museum passes printed for the past x years can't anticipate the need for them down to the last iota?
I wonder what's up with that? Maybe the museum owners weren't raking in enough because K-Mart shoppers have been figuring out how to maximize the passes? Or what?
