Where shall I take my husband?
I have been lucky to have had the chance to do alot of travelling in Europe. I have seen most of Western europe other than Ireland and Portugal. My favorite were switzerland and Italy and I did not like PAris, southern france and spain. I will be travelling with my husband who has only been to England and Spain. He really liked toledo and alhamra. We would like to plan a trip this winter so he can see more of europe. Italy and England are already on the agend but we would like to add another country. Where do you think I ought to take him?

Why not ireland or portugal? Very nice and not expensive. If you go the right time of year it wont be crowded.
|
Why not go back to Italy to places you haven't seen or would like to visit again?
|
Why not try Granada, Spain? They apparently have a great Parador there. I am thinking about taking my husband there for his 40th.
|
Duh, sorry, just saw that you don't want Spain. Why not Switzerland? It's gorgeous and very close to Italy.

It's only a part of Europe (Istanbul) but if you've both seen at least some of Europe you ought to really consider Turkey. I have traveled most of Europe (not Eastern) and of all my trips (Asia & Europe) Turkey is the best. The scenery is fantastic, the history is the best (the cradle of civilization), the people nice and all over the most unusual you'll see.

Why not head further east and discover new places together, such as... Germany, Austria, Hungary..?

If you like a snowy, icy, cold winter then head for Prague. Really very inexpensive and plenty to see.
