Where is this is Paris?
 

I am not familiar with Paris at all and keep reading about different areas call andro....? I am considering a home exchange in Paris but all I know about the location is that it is five minutes from Champs Elysees on rue Leon Jost 75017. From this is it possible to figure out which andro... this house is in and if it`s a desirable neighbourhood? Thanks so much for any info.

You are trying to say "arrondisement" which are the "areas" of Paris. They radiate out from the 1st which is the Louvre area. Go to maporama.com and pull up France, enter the address and you will get a map of the area.

The last two digits of the postal code indicate the arrondisment -- the address you have is therefore in the 17th, one of the outer districts.

It is "outer" as the poster says but it isn't in the boonies by any stretch and of course the transportation system of Paris is superb.

Rue Leon Jost is a street that runs northwest - southeast in the a triangle formed by Avenue de Wagram, Boulevard de Couercelles and Rue de Prony.<BR>The parallel street is rue de Courcelles. The closest Metro station is Courcelles. The Arc de Triomphe is about 2 kilometers away. Parc Monceau is a little to the east off of Boulevard de Courcelles. The address is technically in the 17th Arrondissement, but the southeastern end of the street is almost in the 8th.<BR>
