Where is the Paris museum of genetic oddities?
A while ago I read about a museum near Paris that has displays of strange and curious oddities. It reminded me of a Ripley's Believe It or Not. Anyone else hear of it?
|
Yes, I've heard of it too and have been trying to locate it. (Saw it on television - really weird stuff like a corpse showing all the internal organs).<BR>Hope someone can come up with the answer.

I think I found your museum using google.com:<BR>http://www.gonomad.com/features/0105/stella_paris.html<BR>" . . . Maison Alfort, southeast of Paris, the Musee Fragonard contains neither paintings by the 18th century master Antoine Fragonard, nor scents by the celebrated perfume manufacturer of the same name. The museum belongs to France's biggest veterinary college and houses an incredible collection of bottled, stuffed, dried and otherwise preserved specimens. <BR>The most famous artifact is the "ecorche" rider (flayed of his skin to reveal the anatomical structure) and his flayed horse trotting off into the vitrine followed by three flayed human babies in postures that one must suppose seemed "cherubic" to the keeper of this collection. . . "<BR>Sounds delightful ;)<BR><BR>

Yes, Alice, that's the one! Now I remember the name Fragonard (which I associated with the painter).<BR>Thanks so very much!

Welcome. luv the challenges...

Thank you so. This has been driving me crazy. Was supposed to fly to Paris tonight. Chickened out due to the warnings- will go Friday instead. Hope to go to the museum anyway.

Robin:<BR> What warnings?
|
Maybe Robin means the broad warning the US is under for our national holiday re: terrorist attack threats. Nothing specific, just 'chatter' as the intel folks call it.
