Where is the best rillette in Paris?
Traditional rillette is my favorite guilty pleasure when I go home to meat-loving Texas (rather than in meat-hating boyfriend's company in New York). I will be in Paris and can't wait for the rillette. Where can I find it? Restaurants or shops, either way. I would love to keep some out my hotel window (avec des cornichons, bien sur) for midnight snacks, but would settle for having it served to me in a restaurant.

Can't tell you where the best is, but almost every neighborhood will have a Charcuterie with a nice selection of meat based dishes. While I've never ordered their rillette, most will have it.

I had to laugh....I used to love rillette until I saw it being made once (in Paris) and found out what was in it. But enjoy it anyway!

You never want to see how or by whom your food is prepared. It'll kill many a food love affair. :-)

Ummmm, I just bought some rillette made by a local French couple.
Now you're making me throw it away! WHAT IS IT MADE OF? Jason |

I don't get it...what's the mystery ingredient that you found so disgusting? As far as I know it's just shredded pork meat covered with a layer of lard, nothing shocking...
