Where is Lucignano?

I've noticed a few mentions of Lucignano, but can't seem to find it on my small map. Can anyone tell me where it's located? Wondering if this would be a good base for 3 days in Tuscany?

Spending the prior 3 days directly in Florence, but would like to get a broader sense of the region for the duration of our trip.

Is luciagnano a good 'home base"? what hotels do you recommend there?

thanks!!!

Coulda probably found it on standard websites like viamichelin or mappy for you - - but "can't" show you, like this can; located quickly with a simple Yahoo! search:

http://www.luxury-villas-in-tuscany.com/a311/map.htm

Looks pretty good to me, but somewhat isolated. I spent a week in Ambra once, and THAT seemed pretty isolated. You can see it also, NNW of Lucignano.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
thank you!!

what other part of Tuscany would you recommend for 3 days? planning to visit siena, montepulciano, etc.

this is a first trip to italy for both me and my husband - tuscany has been the hardest part to plan because it just seems like there are so many good options.

Type "Bob the Navigator" into the text search box at the top of the page. In the topic search box to the right, scroll down and highlight Italy. At least a zillion messages should come up with many great options in Southern Tuscany. Bob is very knowledgable about the area, so you can trust his advice.

There are a few Lucignanos in Italy. Three in Tuscany alone. One is in Arezzo, Lucignano d'Arbia and Lucignano d'Asso are in the province of Siena

We are driving from Florence to Pienza in September and I have the town of Lucignano as a place of interest to stop. I read on this thread that there are 3 Lucignanos in Tuscany. Which one is Monte San Savino and Sinalunga? The one I found info on, can't find it again, is a fortified town with ringed streets. I hope this is the one on my drive.

Thanks!
