Where is Frankfurt (Main) Hbf from the Airport

I want some advice. I am landing in
Frankfurt and am supposed to catch a train
to InterLaken from Frankfurt(Main)Hbf

How far is it from the airport. Could I instead catch the train from the airport?
Thanks in advance

From Frankfurt airport FRA to the tain station Hbf there are 4 to 5 trains or S-bahns per hour. Takes 14 minutes.

Keshav,

of course you can catch a train from the Airport to Interlaken. There are two train-stations, one for domestic travel which is in the basement of the Airport and one for IC, ICE, EuroCity etc. just across from Departures A(over a covered bridge).
Have fun

Frankfurt (Main) Hbf is the central train station downtown, about a 10 min communter train ride from the airport. You can also catch a long-distance train from the airport directly, what usually happens is that you may need to change trains in Mannheim, where the "airport" and the "Hbf" trains meet up. Actually, there is a direct train from the airport at least as far as Basel, Switzerland, from where it should be easy to get to Interlaken.

Thanks to all three that responsed
I finally booked from the Flughafen.
Another question though is, on the return I will arrive around 6PM from InterLaken and plan to stay near
the FF airport (in order to make a 10AM
flight back to the States.
Any recommendations on where to stay
close to the airport (my budget is US$120 or so)

Keshav,

The Steigenberger Esprix Hotel sounds like a pretty good bet - they have a weekend special for EUR 99 including breakfast. Otherwise it's around EUR 120.

Click on the "rates & packages" and scroll down.
I've never stayed there, but have always found the (higher priced) Steigenberger brand hotels to be fine.

Otherwise, there are always the Accor chains: Novotel & Ibis.

Keshav,

Just checked rates and saw that you might want to check the more upscale Steigenberger Hotel at the airport as well (NOT Esprix). Plugged in some dates and got a weekend rate of EUR 145. Stayed at this place a while ago (about 5 years) and it was fine.

Hope this helps
