My husband and I love to travel and we love ice cream. Please cast your vote for the best ice cream in the world.

Any New Zealand ice cream...it's so much smoother/creamier than American ice cream.

Hi

The gelato in Italy is pretty good I was surprised when I went to Italy the first time. I came to Milan and decided to check out the ice cream and I was really blown away by the taste. So go to Rome og Florence and you will find lots and lots of ice cream shops that serves great ice cream

Regards

Berthillon, Berthillon, Berthillon... in Paris. We spent a month in Europe having a frozen dessert of some kind (ice cream, sorbet, gelato) every day and sometimes twice a day and Berthillon beat anything we've ever tried. By far.

We've been to Paris twice and are probably putting it on the back burner for awhile so we can travel to places we've not yet been. But it would be difficult for us to be in Europe and not go back to Paris for some of the best food in the world, incl. Berthillon.

"Sorveteria Frio Gostoso" in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil - actually, around the corner from where I live, has the best fruit ice cream I have ever tasted. The best of all: coconut!

The Zest (formerly Zesto, but they painted out the "o&quot in Columbus NE in 1956, the day I had my first ever 20cent cone (a small was a nickel - the 20 was GIANT)

1977 it was Sedutto coffee ice cream in NY. We served it at a restaurant where I worked when I came here and it was, before Haagen Dasz and all the other "premium" ice creams were even a glint in some premium cow's eye, fantastic.

2001 I walked into San Crispino in Rome and walked out thinking about become the world's oldest exchange student ...

Every 20 years or so a person is due for an ice cream epiphany. Something to look forward to ...

You will find the best ice cream in the world anywhere you find a crowd flowing into the street around any ice cream shop on a warm summers night.

Look for the crowd and yee shall find what you seek.

The apparent quality of an ice cream depends on the recipe and the grade of the ingredients as well as its age and storage method. Commercial ice cream makers use inexpensive fillers to lower their unit cost. Judge for yourself...Perhaps, vanilla flavored. Real vanilla or synthetic? Grade A or grade B milk source? You should be able to make a 'best' ice cream in your own kitchen. Next question: What flavor is the best?

Hi H,

Down the street from Berthillion is Amorino. The best gelato outside of Bologna. Much better than B.

http://www.amorino.fr/

The best gelato in Bologna might be at Gelateria Moline, Via delle Moline 13. By far, the best gelato we had in Italy.

San Crispino in Rome. The flavours are all natural and very true. Not only can you tell the 'malt whisky flavour' is actually flavoured with malt whisky, you can tell it's an Islay whisky ! My favourite flavour there is zabaglione, flaboured with a fine Maesala.

Berthillon, first.
Second, Hershey's Ice Cream. Note: the company has NO relationship--NONE--to the Hershey candy bar company.

My favorite is the birthday cake ice cream from Brusters, right down the road. I love it, and can't find anything that will compare! It's even better with a dollop of frosting on top!
