WOW! Thank You all, I felt strongly I could count on someone to aim me in the right direction and help with my "over planing" Tesana, Thank You for your detailed directions and the GPS coordinates. I have visited the Abbey on a previous tirp and enjoyed it very much. It certainly is worth another visit.

Thanks you all for the links, the suggestions for places to stop and eat. I appreciate the help.

Regards

Rolohof-duvall; grazie. the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo , is different then the Abbey, actual as history goes , the Castelo Bibbiano was used to defend the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo. http://www.antimo.it/

also may i add if you are passsing thru town of Monteroni, there is resturant/hotel Borgo Antico http://www.hotelborgoantico.com/it/default.asp ,

in the rear off via del Castello is old church, worth a quick stop to see, resturant is good also.

One of nonconformists' links says it's now owned by this winery/family. Are there two different Bibbiano castles?

http://www.tenutenardi.com/canale.asp?id=81

It doesn't appear on the English page, only the Italian page.

Anche oggi il castello è proprietà privata, parte di una vasta azienda agario-vinicola di proprietà del commendatore Silvio Nardi.

no, there is on one Castello di Bibbiano, but some were confusing the actual winery estate with the old castle.

Yes, Silvio Nardi (excellent Brunello) winery owns the Castello Di Bibbiano, i think they were trying to make a hotel out of it last i was there.

also the Castelnuovo Tancredi is right up road from it on SP34; and i think some were confusing that with the old Castello.

I now make that at least four castles in such a small area.

They really didn't get on in days gone by!
