Boston 25, I hope you'll come to the fodors GTG in October?
|
WOW!!! is this truly the longest thread? Very interesting, my favorite was reading posts from 9-11 timeframe. short and to the point. Great idea, mimi.
I was born in Honolulu, went to school in California, came back to Kauai to be with my family. Dream of visiting Italy... |
kauai, when I thought this thread became too long, I started a where do you live part 11. I should have said part 2, but they seem to prefer this one.
Welcome! |
thank you mimi. i think i'll visit this one frequently for a couple of reasons, 1) i haven't finished reading each one and 2) it's the best geography lesson i've taken.
from reading the other post "french view..." i gather you were ill. whatever the case, i hope you're feeling better. no words, only hugs... |
Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Then on to the US: Illinois, South Carolina, back to Illinois, then on to Massachusetts (Boston, Cambridge, Gloucester). And back to Brazil, again, but to the City of Salvador, Capital of the State of Bahia, in the North-East region where I still live now.

Great thread. Born in NYC, lived in Philadelphia, Boston and last 15 yrs. in Pinehurst, NC.

Born in Chicago, then folks moved us to North Branch, Mich then in 10th grade moved to Golden, Colorado.
After High School moved around a bunch ended up here in Tarpon Springs, FL since 1985. This was only a brief summary....I think my parents were gypsies...LOL |
Born in the ghetto of Cleveland's East Side. Moved to the east suburbs where I lived until the age of 48. Followed my heart and career to the South suburbs of Denver, where I and my family now happily reside. This has allowed me to visit many places I might not have been able to had
I remained- Asia, Europe, many destinations in the U.S. West that are now within easy reach. Colorado, in itself, would suffice as a vacation destination for years to come. |
Dobra Hoot and Na Zdhavi
Although this is my screen site, my daughter-in-law Lucie shares it with me, reading all the various messages etc. She asked me was I sending in a reply, and I replied 'no', my background was too ordinary, then she said, what about me. She was born in Czech Republic, spent first 25 years of her life there, then 5 years in the UK where she met my son, and now they are living in Melbourne, Australia. She sends greetings and says: dobra hoot and na zdravi to all!!! (for those of you that read Czech) |
I live in Melbourne too, under a canopy of giant mountain ash, tree ferns and rhododendrons, in the Dandenong Ranges. Born Adelaide, South Australia, have lived in Canberra, Sydney, Far North Queensland, and Islington,London. My heart is at the bottom of Australia, at the bottom of the world.

born: Busselton, Western Australia - long white sandy beaches, blue ocean, very close to Yallingup, one of the best (IMHO!) surfing beaches ever.
Live: Victoria Park, Western Australia - slightly south of Perth, cosmopolitian, alfresco dining, excellent public transport. I could go on, but I AM a little biased! |
i cant believe this thread started in 2001!! Am I the only Malaysian?- cant possibly read through the whole thread.
I live in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Its a beautiful laid back city, tropical and very lush, set by the Sarawak river. One hour away, we have Damai beach backed by tropical jungle and Mount Santubong (steep climb). Was born in Kedah (close to Penang and the Thai border, for those who know Malaysia). Kedah is the rice bowl of Malaysia, so padi fields as far as the eye can see. Have lived in Kuala lumpur, Adelaide (2 years - loved it but hate the cold) and Kingston, UK for 6 months. Travelled quite a bit but for living, Kuching does it for me. |
Amazing thread, I have learned a lot.
I was born in Detroit, moved to Ann Arbor, then to Boston {Watertown & Needham), back to Ann Arbor for a few years, then Needham, now Andover MA. I am trying to figure out where to spend my "golden years" - not here. I have enjoyed travel to Italy, Switzerland, Austria and London. Love parts of California, and have a soft spot for Ann Arbor. I would like to spend the next few years traveling in search of that special place to call home. |
Hornbill: use your browser to search for Malaysian or any other term on any other thread. Really, who does have time to read the entire thing?
|
I was born in Oakville, Ontario Canada. I lived in Toronto for 40 years, and now I reside 1 hour or so due west on Toronto, in Kitchener, Ontario.
