Hi all, <BR>I was born in Sydney, New South Wales,Australia, have lived in Australia's Northern Territory and our island state of Tasmania but am now happily settled in the beautiful Blue Mountains, about 70 kilometres west of Sydney, where the weather is gorgeous at the moment. It is midwinter, but the sky is blue and the sun is bright.

The state motto of Minnesota is French, the very beautiful "L'Etoile du Nord" (The Star of the North) and four main streets in downtown Minneapolis all have French names: Hennepin (after Father Louis Hennepin; Minneapolis is also in Hennepin County), Nicollet (after Jean Nicollet, an explorer, translator, and negotiator born in Normandy), LaSalle (after French explorer Robert de la Salle), and Marquette (after French missionary and explorer Jacques Marquette).
