I was born in Guernsey, second largest of the British Channel Islands, and lived there most of my 28 years. I went to university in England and Germany, then moved to London three years ago. My family still lives in Guernsey and I plan to go back one day too, when I'm sick of life in the fast lane. I'm obviously biased, but the Channel Islands are a really cool place. They even named New Jersey after the biggest of our islands. We have our own language (Norman French, although only the old people still speak it), our own governments, and all sorts of other cool stuff. We also had the dubious distinction of being the only British territory occupied during the Second World War. If anyone wants to know more about Guernsey/Jersey/Alderney/Sark etc - great holiday destination if you're headed to UK or France anyway - let me know and I will be glad to share. I could go on forever about the pleasures of my island. And no, I am not a tourism rep.

Caroline
xx

Born in Trumbull, CT. Raised and schooled in CT. Moved to Hingham, MA (suburb south of Boston) 2 1/2 years ago. Fascinating, huh? I like to travel, don't like to move, and love the Northeast.

Grew up in Swampscott, MA just north of Boston on the Atlantic coastline. Now live slightly inland in Lynnfield, but have a townhouse in Marblehead. That's the birth place of the American Navy, as well as the sailing capital of the world (supposedly). Marblehead and M'head harbor would be a great daytrip for any of you visiting the Boston area - especially in the summer when all the boats are in the water. It also has an "old town" area with many historic homes that are still well maintained, as well as some "cute" shops.
