Great question! Really enjoyed seeing the trends for 2015 from the answers.

We went to America this year - normally we holiday in Europe where we live but this year opted for Florida for our big holiday (Orlando, Kennedy Space Centre, a quick look-in at Clearwater to see the dolphins from the movies, and a week plus in Naples).

We went to Cannes for a week by the beach for our cheap-and-cheerful week in the sun

I had a few days in an amazing hotel in the Aran islands off the west coast of Ireland

And the girls and I (all in our 40s! not really girls any more!) had a long weekend in Toulouse, which was really enjoyable.

What a fun thread!

April we spent 10 days in Italy and a short stop in Geneva -our 11th trip to Italy! Bologna, Ravenna, Padua, Venice, Treviso, Verona and then on to Geneva for three nights to visit our son who was studying at The university of Geneva at the time.

New York - three times this year ( we are only a four hour drive)

Scottsdale

September was Paris for a week in a lovely apartment in the Isle Saint Louis

Although I am a little late to jump onto this thread:

This year, my job allowed my to be very flexible.

- We were several times in our second home in the Black Forest.

- In June, we made a five-day vacation around a wedding in Croatia. It was so beautiful to enjoy summer sunshine and swim in the sea!

- In September, friends invited us to a party to Koroni, Greece. After staying one week in lovely Koroni, we drove to Olympia, Delphi, Corinth, Nafplio, Mycenae and Athens.

- I took DW to a most beautiful business event in Berlin in September which involved a tour through the construction site of the new City Castle and a fabulous light show.

- In November we made a cruise from Venice - Dubrovnik - Rhodes - Ephesus - Split - Venice, with added days in Venice.

- Over Christmas and New Year's Eve, we enjoyed the spring in the Black Forest, before finally the snow came last week and the ski slopes opened.

In May 2016, we will travel to Morocco. Other trips will pop up in due time. We will see who marries or celebrates a birthday or holds a party!

Last year we managed a long trip to Europe that is going to be really hard to top - Madrid, Budapest and a few other places in Hungary, Vienna, Wachau Valley, Cesky Krumlov, Salzburg and Salzach Valley, Fussen, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Wurzburg.

Some road trip weeks here and there in the US - hiking in Sedona, some playing (just not the gambling kind) in Las Vegas, some relaxing in Palm Springs, up to Oregon.

This year we start in Vienna and will spend time in Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and finish in Berlin.

@kawh - Business Class, I know what you mean by No turning back! When we run out of miles to get Business Class award travel, well... maybe it will be time for road trips

May: Raleigh, NC
June: Prague, Copenhagen, Seattle
August: Seattle again
December: Oahu, HI

In January I went to Southern California to visit family.

I made several trips to Houston throughout the year to visit Dad.

In late August/early September I spent time in South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Bostwana. I took a day trip to Zambia from Zim and a day trip to Namibia from Botswana.

My husband and I enjoyed a 10 day trip in september to the south of France. We stayed in Nice and visited Monaco and Eze, visited Antibes, stayed overnight in Ste Maxime, stopped briefly in Aix en Provence. We stayed 3 nights in St Remy de Provence and visted Avignon and Arles, and several provencal towns including Gordes and Roussillon. We had a wonderful time. It is truly a a beautiful area.

I love the diversity of all the places here.

Annhig hope the Cuba trip is going well. Our neighbors went last summer and loved it. Carol thanks for the reminder to all of us to live in the moment.

2015 - Although we took a few shorter trips, this year was all about spending more time in places we love, closer to people we love so that meant London and NYC. We started the year with friends in southern France (Narbonne) and took a spin down the coast to Spain and then up to Sete. I stopped in Ireland to visit family before heading back to California.

Three months in London (April-June) with several trips to Ireland to see my mother! Helsinki and Berlin in July before we flew back to California.

August trip to NYC for a family event with a few days in Scottsdale Arizona on the way home. I know, Arizona in August is madness - but I like the heat!

November we were back in NYC for six weeks and then on to Colombia after Christmas which we really enjoyed.

Our friends have started to complain that we don't spend enough time at home and they may be right :).

2106 - In February I'm heading up to Vancouver for a few days and I'll be back in Ireland for a week at the end of the month. We don't have any firm plans for the rest if the year, but we're enjoying these longer trips and so far renting our place out while we travel seems to be working out.

But then maybe we'll surprise everyone, dial it all back and get a dog!

Wow!!! Do I need to retire so I can do more traveling !!! In 2015 we went to Iceland, Norway and Sweden. We didn't spend long enough in Iceland ( only 3 days) and we can't wait to go back! We loved it. We spent a week driving around the fjords in Norway and then a week in Sweden visiting relatives in Varmland ( many that we have not met before) and touring Stockholm. It was a wonderful trip and we loved every place we went.

Alas, we had to work the rest of the year so we can save up for our next vacation. Thinking of staying closer to home and driving to Nova Scotia this summer ( it is a long drive from New England but it is doable). Husband wants to bike the Cabot Trail ( I think I will be the support vehicle).

2017 we will be going back to Europe. Not sure where yet as my list is long. We did love Portugal and Italy and they are calling us back but....So many places to go, so little time.
