Where can I get food in Rome like the stuff made in the " Big Night?"
If you've ever seen the movie "Big Night" (with Stanley Tucci, Minnie Driver, Isabella Rosellini), there's a great scene where the charecters are preparing a feast in hopes of saving their Italian restaurant.
Commentary: As preparations begin for the big night with Louis Prima the food takes the starring role. The preparation of the timpani is a wonderful sight to behold. The pasta is hand-made and rolled and everything is put into an enormous pot with the care of a surgeon. Finally when the two brothers decide to serve the timpani they carefully remove the lid and turn the pot upside down, like a cake. Then before Primo cuts it he lightly feels the timpani and cocks his head as if he can hear the timpani.
Any food lover should watch this movie just for the food scenes.
My DH and I are going to Rome in May and we want to eat anywhere they make this timpani! Does anyone know where we can get this delightful dish?
