yk - yes, it is Italy. It's Orta San Guilio taken from Sacro Monte (2003 trip). I saw that stunning scenery but didn't know what it was until I got to Lake Orta. You can look at many of my pix on shutterfly (haven't scanned them all yet). I have individual tabs for different trips.

travelnut - good photo of you and the gelato!

Well now I've added ours. We're at a harbor-side cafe in St. Jean Cap Ferrat. Makes me sad that we're not there now, or somewhere else equally exciting.

Enzian: Where was your picture taken? It's so small I couldn't tell. Fine looking woman I might add.

Hi John---Thanks! It's up at Mt. Rainier, looking south toward the Tatoosh range. Not much of a "travel" photo, since, it's only about 50 miles from our house.

I tried to find one from Switzerland, but they are all full of my adult kids, since we all went together in 2007. I'll keep looking. . . .

Hi yk; Just a simple backyard gardener. However, we did have 2500 visitors our last year. Iris/Dick

Patrick, I was feeling bad that my photo was taken summer before last. You've now opened up a wide range of more attractive photos I could choose from. How far back can we go?

I'm kind of bummed that I saw this post. Now everytime I'm reading a post from someone who's name I recognize, I have to go and see if they have a photo posted, and of course read their bio.

I say go back, forward, or sidewise in time for an idealized view of ourselves.

thanks everyone for getting into the spirit of all this. It's so much fun to see pix of people, but also fun to see what they substitute for their own mugs. Love the iris, iris. When I lived in MN I used to make an annual pilgrimage to Anderson's Acres of Iris outside the Twin Cities. Such beautiful flowers and so many kinds. Your garden must be lovely.

Ok, I took the plunge & changed it. You can now see me & DH the elusive Mr Don. But I am not sure if it took as I see it sometimes & others the original one of the storks in Spain.
Oh well I love the stoks too.
We may not stay there...limited time offer...(hehe)

But good idea Julie I too need to "see" the gang especially while I adjust to the new forum.

Well, I put mine up, but I plan to replace it with a travel photo once I have the time. It was just the most recent photo I had, from New Year's Eve, and it was on my computer, instead of on a CD, so a bit easier to upload.

I guess I should put a new one up with my broken tooth - NOT!

amsdon, nice picture. Does Downy wrinkle remover really work? I've never tried it. Ironing is against my religion but I could cheat a little if it only involves spraying.

Julie that photo is only acceptable because it is taken from head up only (too much sampling of tapas in Spain) and also Mr Don took it himself from an angle with arm outstretched minimizing any double chins that might have otherwise been an issue. (GADZOOKS! what next?)

I think the Downy works best on cotton & blends that are only slightly wrinkled, not the huge jobs it just takes too much of the Downy and end up soaking the garment.
The secret is in the gentle tugging out of the wrinkles as you go. But I was told by a friend this can be accomplished by just spraying water. I find the Downy does make it a little crisper. I bought the travel sizes at Target or K mart one year.

amsdon - I saw no sign of double chins or too much tapas eating - your photo is great. Please send Mr. Don my way to take a few pix of me! LOL

In Slovenia and Croatia the hotels do not allow irons in the room - you must use their laundry service. Well, cheapo me refused. I soaked my linen trousers under the shower, gave them a good swift tugging vertically and horizontally (no gentleness at all) and the next morning they were dry w/o the creases from sitting. They did not look like they were freshly ironed but at least I started the day looking a bit better and without wrinkles, at least for a few minutes.
