When to Visit Scotland

My sister and I would like to visit Scotland and Isle of Skye in April or May. Could anyone please let me know what the weather is typically like for both months? Any recommendations? We're in the early planning stage, so I don't have have any other specifics.

Thank you all for any insight you can offer!

Absolutely no telling - could be nice in April - or not. Could be nice in May - or not. Could be some nice and some awful (most likely)

The only thing sure is the days will be longer in May than in April.

Scotland's weather is like a politician's whim, very unpredictable. Theoretically, May should be better than April....theoretically!
Seriously though, you could have any type of weather in April and May, early April could bring snow, both months could be colder than you'd think.

Alternatively you could get blistering sun and really nice, warm days.

In May there will be more wild flowers around.
