WHEN TO VISIT PARIS?

WHEN ARE THE NICEST WEEKS IN THE FALL TO VISIT PARIS FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Personally, I like October. Leaves are beginning to fall, days are cool and nights cold, not freezing...great for walking and especially stopping at the cafe for coffee and chocolat chaud!

I would vote for 3 times: Early to mid May before tourist hoards arrive; the second or third week of September; and
October as described above.
We were there last year in early September and that was seemingly a good time, too. The Musee d'Orsay always seems to attract a crowd when the weather is nice.

I would say the last 3 weeks of Sept into the first 2 weeks of October. But Paris weather is EXTREMELY unpredictable so no guarantees. For more Paris information e-mail me- [email protected]
We went this past November and had a fabulous time. The weather might have been in the mid 50's - but worth the tradeoff to have NO crowds. Felt like we had the city to ourselves AND lots of bargins on accomodations and airfare. Perhaps not everyones choice - but worked great for us.

Thanks Missy. You just gave me a great idea. Were you there in early November?
Actually Bob, we were in Paris for Thanksgiving. Lit candles in Notre Dame on Thanksgiving day! From what I understand though, early Nov. would still be good in terms of bargins/crowds. You will have a fantastic time, Enjoy!
