When to purchase plane ticket for summer travel

I was wondoring if anyone has advice on when to get the best fares to London. We moved to London recently and have family in Cincinnati who want to come visit in May and July. Delta has a direct flight to LGW so everyone wants to fly Delta. End of May is $750ish and July is $1060.

Should we check the prices every day? As I recall, Delta typically runs sales but I can't remember if they run them for the summer since I have not been a summer Europe traveller in the past.

www.travelocity.com has a feature that lets you pick a route and then it emails you when the fare comes down. It's not without faults (like not all fares are good on all days and the low fares sell out quickly), but it might be easier than searching yourself every day.

It all depends on the load factor. Heavy prebookings and the fares go up slack bookings and you are in with a chance.
