when to go to spain
When is a good time to visit Spain? I don't want to spend too much time in Madrid but go to the coast.
Thanks

Personally, I don't think there is a bad time to go to Spain since I love it there. I also don't think there's a such thing as too much time in Madrid, although others would disagree. :)

Having said that, the south gets unbearably hot in the summer, and the beaches get pretty crowded. I guess it just depends on what you plan to do. If you are going to hang out on a beach, I'd go in the summer. But if you plan on doing more sightseeing sorts of things, I'd say late spring and early fall are your best bets for good weather.

Hi

May/June & Sept/Oct have very nice weather, and are quieter.

Depends where you live. You'd love it in December if you lived in Finland, less so if you lived in Singapore !

Also South is quite a bit warmer than North. For beach activities you probably want the Med side v Atlantic.

Check out historical weather here : http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/weather/historical/historical.htm

Peter
http://tlp.netfirms.com/
Spain has several climates by regions and they vary greatly. You will need to be specific. For Andalusia or Catalonia I prefer April or late Sep. I will be in centro Spain for the next 2 weeks and the forecast is 60 to 40--but that is at higher elevations. Do not go south in the summer months.

The peninsular nature of Spain's coastline makes for a vast territory with varied weather patterns. Which coast are you referring to? Costa Dorada? Costa del Sol? Costa Brava? Costa Blanca? Costa Verde? Costa del Azahar? Costa de La luz?

I've been to Costa del Sol in April and November and, while November was kind of cool, there were some Germans and Scandinavians having a blast. Costa Verde in May was amazing.

Could you provide more info?
