When to avoid allergies in Tuscany?

We had a wonderful three weeks in Tuscany 4/16/07 to 5/05/07. We loved it and are eager to return, but next time MUST avoid months with such intense pollen. What months would be best in order to still avoid the tourist crowds BUT ALSO hayfever?

Well - that depends on what plants you're allergic to - since the pollen appears at all different times of year. I had a boyfriend with rose fever - that is only rose pollen bothered him - so we had to watch for when roses started blooming.

So do you know which plants you need to avoid (something will be releasing pollen alost all year).

You will be safe from any pollen in November/December. (And from tourist crowds too.)
