When should I start looking for flights to Paris for a trip in May 2009?

We are planning a family trip to France May 16th - 30th of 2009 to celebrate our daughter's graduation from college with degrees in French and Marketing. We've only flown overseas once before (in 2001), so we're not very experienced with this. When should I start looking for flights and watching prices?

I usually use kayak.com for domestic flights. Is this a good resource for European flights too or is there something else that's better?

We booked our flights in early September last year for travel May of this year. We managed to find a very good seat sale with Icelandair from Halifax to Paris for 544.00 per person taxes in.

Not sure prices like that will ever been seen again but it's never too early to keep your eye out for sales.

You can book your flights 331 days out. I just completed my flight for April 14 - May 13, 2009.

They may only increase in price with all the gas problems.....

a good aggregator site is www.itasoftware.com....compare what you find there with kayak as well as www.mobissimo.com and you could also look at www.onetravel.com, a consolidator
