When does it snow in Lille?

Can anyone tell me when it snows in Lille? I would love to come over from London on Eurostar for the Christmas markets...

Thanks, Suz

The chances of snow in Lille are about the same as in Brugge ...

Why don't ask another question like
Are there any Xmas Markets that I could go to that is likley to have snow while I am there.

Thanks crazychic - is it obvious I'm new? (or dumb!?) Ideally I wanted to travel by eurostar, so I think it narrows the options down a little.

It doesn't snow very often in Lille. I have friends who live in Lille and have been there many times during Christmas and New Year but have not encountered snow in the past few years.

I am afraid your vision is a bit too "fairy tale". In most of Western Europe, a "white Christmas" has become a rarity. It's much more likelier it will be grey and drizzly when you arrive in Lille.

Besides, Christmas markets are primarily a Germanic tradition, which concerns France only marginally (the most authentic are in Alsace -Strasbourg and Colmar). Not to say Lille is not an interesting city...

Very seldom, its near the coast. When it does it can be deep.

often 5mm or 6

It doesn't snow every year in Lille, but I'm pretty sure it has (for a few days) the past 3 years. It is totally unpredictable and can happen in November or February or April or December or January.... Same in Paris. Many years, the temperature does not even go down to freezing for more than 3 or 4 days in Paris during the winter. Global warming?
