When do Bougainvillea Bloom in Santorini, Greece?

I have seen countless photos of the beautiful bougainvillea flowers blooming in Santorini. Can anyone tell me during which months these flowers are in peak bloom?
Do they at all bloom in April or May? I am thinking it will more likely be that they bloom later in the year August/September.
Also any thoughts on what Santorini is like to visit April/May anyways?

Bouganvillas bloom constantly unless there is a cold snap, not one blooming period. I would assume they would be in full bloom in the spring. They were in September when we visited.

We have always visited in May and June and they are in Bloom. It is my impression that they probably in the early stages but they are definitely blooming.

HappyTrvlr has it right. They bloom as long as the weather is warm enough. So when you visit isn't an issue other than in winter.

They are found throughout Greece by the way, not just on Santorini.

They are in bloom when I go to the islands in May, and still in bloom when I return in September. How much before and after that I couldn't say.
