When did the Mad Cow disease situation resolve?

I was just wondering about Mad Cow. A couple of years ago (I think right before 9/11), Mad Cow was a huge issue in Europe, especially in England. Did it ever affect Ireland (and, more importantly, does it still?)

Ireland did not have the problems Britain did. They had a few cases in the early 90's but agressively got rid of the problem and implemented loads of new regulations (age of cattle limited etc..) to prevent further problems. This is why when you give blood in the US they only ask about the UK and not the Republic of Ireland.

The trade paper CUD (Cows' Union Daily) reports the dispute as resolved, the cows are no longer mad.

Contrary to what CUD says, I hear that their are a few heifers out there that are still pretty angry!

Then there was the hoof and mouth problem. Something that started when one of the cows from out of town wore white sneakers to England. Boy did that raise a ruckus!

Word in the circus community is that a few of them are past angry... Some of them are packing heat.

Get rid of them, I say. Throw them away.

Two cows were out in a field eating grass. One cow turns to the other cow and says, "Moooooo!" "Hey", the other cow replies.... "I was just about to say the same thing!"

Thanks for the update Scarlett, didn't realize that some heifers were still having a cow.

(Not enough pink jogging suits?)

I heard, though, that a few Scottish cows are just back from visiting relatives in Hong Kong...
