I am trying to book train tickets between the following cities:

July 18th-Barcelona to Madrid
July 22nd-Madrid to Lisbon

I am not able to book online, it says the tickets are nit available. Am I booking too early? When will I be able to book? I need help!! Thank you.

It may help to register for promotions etc. at SNCF, the French rail line. The company usually sells tickets about 3 months ahead but recently has promoted special deals much earlier than that. http://en.voyages-sncf.com/en/

Tickets (at least in France) don't go on sale until 90 days in advance except on some lines where iDTGV tickets go on sale 4-6 months in advance.

While the 3 month (not specifically 90 days) advance posting of schedules and availability of tickets has been the norm for quite some time, with the noted iDTGV exceptions, in the last year or so the SNCF has widened that window from time to time. I know that last spring some of the summer schedules were available earlier than 3 months in advance.

I haven´t much about it this year however.

The Paris to Barcelona TGV trains are open for booking until late May on www.loco2.com. Forget July until April!

Madrid-Lisbon will either be 90 days or 60 days before departure.
