Whee should I go

My daughter is studying in Barcelona this semester so we are meeting when she is done with classes. I will be flying to Barcelona and will be spending a day or two there but I have been and toured there already as well as Madrid and Seville. I need some trip ideas - we want to go somewhere for a week leaving from Barcelona and we have already been to Italy. Does anyone have any great trip idea?

Granada & Cordoba?

Lisbon & Porto?

Basque country?

Paris?

Given the availability of low cost flights and low train fares when purchased ahead of time, the possibilities cover almost all of Europe.

How about the French Riviera - warm enough and a lot to see and do and all can be done via public transportation - take train or fly to Nice - believe me there is lots of fun things to see and do there.

For trains Barcelona to Nice-Ville (main station) check www.voyages-sncf.com or www.capitainetrain.com (same trains and fares - letter is said to be easier to actually book - look for discounted tickets if you book far enough in advance to get these limited in number ducats. For general train info check www.seat61.com- great info on discounted tickets; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com - these sites also have a lot of info on getting around the French Riviera.

One of many possibilities but one easily reached by train. Flying of course can take you anywhere in Europe for a week - London, Amsterdam, Greece, etc.

You can go absolutely anywhere -- either by low cost flights or by train . . . so where have you dreamed of visiting?

London, Paris, Amsterdam, Germany, Austria, Eastern Europe . . . just about anywhere.

So what sorts of thing do you want to see/do.

It would help to know your interests. And how important budget is. What specific month? And what weather you prefer?

Make sure your daughter will have time left on her student visa. Often they end on the last day of her programme.

Barcelona is a Vueling's hub airport. Just look at where you can fly direct from Barcelona: www.vueling.com/en/book-your-flight/where-we-fly. Click "Barcelona" on the map and the yellow dots, practically everywhere in Europe, indicate direct flight destinations.
Inside Spain, have you been to Valencia, Granada, Cordoba, Ronda, Arcos, Toledo, Segovia, Burgos, Bilbao, San Sebastian, etc.?
